Once upon an Autumn Day, skies were filled
With misty rays; burning, sharp...red as ever
Sunny yet strangely cold, as one but wonders
How now did the lovely summer time pass?
Whilst in the noon, greeted we are by sun
Most shockingly awoken we be by chilly, icy
Mornings, with the frost creeping up window panes
Expanding out their piercing, Medusa-like tentacles
Of sheer bitter, bleak, coldness...
Where trees shed leaves like malting cats in heat
Colours of the sun spread endlessly for days
Falling, tumbling, settling down to the ground
Creating the Earth's patchwork of browns, red
Orange & yellow, bringing joy, hope & peace,
Once upon an Autumn Day...
