Jake and Joel

There was once 2 kids called Joel and Jake, they were brothers.
They were both 13 yrs of age and went to East Derwent High- School. They lived in a town called Westling, where everyone is busy, by having jobs early in the morning right through to midnight. They had to be out of the house by 8 o'clock in the morning for school plus their mum and dad had very important jobs to go to by having meetings all the time. When the boys are at school they play in the school basketball team. Both of the boys were very good players for the High Pistons. The boys were very good and experienced players, that's why they are leaders of the team because Jake is captain and Joel is Vice Captain. The guernseys were all blue with some bright yellow lighting bolts coming down from the chest below and saying High Pistons on the front. Jake was number 15 and Joel was number 17. They played in different positions. Jake was the power forward of the team since he was big and strong and Joel was the guard of the team because he was so good at setting up baskets. The boys and the rest of the team had a real big game coming up this Friday night because it was the first time that the High Pistons had made the finals for 23 years.

The boys were nervous about the big game because it was the Preliminary final and that is the final when it is one game away from the big Grand Final, so the boys just wanted to win the game and get that 2 week break. The team was made up of 10 players. The Preliminary Final was tomorrow night at the Latten Arena. They are playing Phoenix Nights that haven’t lost a game for the last 7 weeks and compared to us we’ve won the past 3 games. But our coach thinks we have the power, strength, speed and of course we’ve got the leadership. Later on the next day it was hours away to the massive game of our team's life of basketball.

We were in the change-rooms and we were trying to keep our mind off the game by listening to our ipods and mp3 players. Wazza said "Boys this is the biggest game of our life where we've got to be alert when the ball is touched by someone and bam there we go!" Then the team replied
"Yeah let's go boys, get the talk up and keep your head in the game, lets go boys!"
